Doom, but it does have a cool, red game cartridge. This CGR review of Doom for SNES has gameplay footage from Doom on Super Nintendo showing the video game play in action from this early FPS released on PC in 1993 and for SNES in 1995. ID Software made history with titles like Wolfenstein 3D and Doom, regarded as (some of) the earliest, modern first person shooters. Waste enemies with a variety of weapons like the shotgun and chaingun, find armor and power ups. The SNES version of Doom …Submited by:InecomCompany

i this snes version they had to put into it 2 super fx chips
Plus how awesome was it to hit the toxic sludge and blow those creatures to shit!
I think He’s right it’s a muddy game from back then but at the time I was addicted and even quit my crappy landscaping job on a rainy day so I could get stoned and veg out.
How pathetic yet wonderful.
This is the first FPS I ever played, atleast the first rated M game with a cool red cart
The delay didn’t bother me back then.
This is better than most other ports of Doom…PC version is still best though.
I have this version’s music in my Ultimate DOOM with Skulltag.
@mikeelman
True, I think the SNES version was more of just a novelty, like:
“Hey lets see if we can pull off Doom for the SNES!”
As a doom fan, I played through it more like contra, since you couldn’t save like the PC version, but I somehow still enjoyed it, even with the choppyness and blurry graphics.
This game has epic music.
Yes , the music for doom on snes rocked unlike other ports at the time But my main problem is that the gameplay its so akward and chopy that is almost unplayable .. at least for me .
But your right shoulder buttons realy help , i hate strafing with a single button so that’s a plus for snes version .
I have to admit, I’m very ignorant on the DOOM title as a whole. That said, I have to say that I liked the SNES port of DOOM and it has nothing to do with the red cart. (who cares about that anyway!?!?) I have only one beef with this version. I thought the gameplay was good, the graphics were blocky but good enough, I thought that the levels had enough secrets for you to figure out. ONE FLAW! YOU COULD NOT SAVE YOUR GAME PROGRESS!!!!!
I think @mikeelman
He also forgets to mention that although the graphics were sludge due to SNES’s 16 bit limits, unlike the other ports at teh time, it somehow managed to have the BEST music out of all of them. The Jaguar version which was practically PC perfect, had NO music during the levels.
Also, the shoulder buttons on the SNES controller allowed for some strafing which is KEY in an FPS, which you didn’t get till the PSx release.
For the SNES, this game rocked.
I think yup
@WinterSoilder
Download dosbox and you can still play Duke Nukem 3d.
I think @Jas0nM5
woop you mean (;
Im honestly amazed that they managed to make a game with such great graphics on the SNES, even though it sucked.
I think oh yea the version that sucked balls
I think true
In Wolfenstein, you dealt with Nazis. In Turok, you faced off against reptilians. In Duke Nukem, your foes were aliens. In Doom, though, you went toe-to-toe with the worst Hell had to offer.
I think There was also a GBA version along with the second one.
I think what i meant was that its a 32X Game , not sega genesis …. the 32X might be an adon for genesis but they dont share the same games .
doom was not realased on the sega genesis , was realased on the 32X
I think the legendary doom, backwords and upside down, the legendary wood
.
