How much does a software engineer in California make a year?

I am planning to become a software engineer in the future and I was just wondering how much they make. I looked around a couple of sites and it ranged from 50k to 80k a year. I’m not sure how much you would really make. If you are a software engineer please tell me how much you make.

I was hoping to work for google, if that helps at all.
